In our most recent interview with our agents, we learned that a thousand people move daily to Florida, and from person to person, the decision and transition to move will vary. 

We looked at the top reasons; a person may relocate to Florida and a couple of ways to create a home away from home feeling right here in Southwest Florida. Grab your pen, paper, or even your computer, and get ready to be inspired!

It feels like Summer all year round!

It gets below 70 degrees during the typical fall and winter seasons, but here we will endure a couple of 70-degree mornings anytime. 

 

Access to Beautiful Beaches

We have over 20 beautiful beaches in Florida and about 16 right here in Southwest Florida. 

 

Diversity of people 

According to the World Population Review, Florida is ranked as the eighth most diverse state in the United States. 

 

Family-friendly amusement parks 

There are over 11 amusement parks in Florida, with Magic Kingdom (Lake Buena Vista, Florida) and Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Bay Lake, Florida) being within the top five amusement parks in the United States. 

 

Florida doesn’t collect an individual Income Tax.

In the United States, seven states do not collect individual Income Taxes, Florida being one.

Find shopping and eating areas, etc., that remind you of home.

 

Re-create memories in your new home 

Bring your old routine into your new space. What are some things that brought you joy back home that you can recreate in your new area? Day by day, begin to do those little things in your new home. 

 

Scents

What are the smells that remind you of home? Candles are great accessories to add to your new home. They are comforting and can remind you of your old home while physically being present in a new space.

 

Interior Design 

Moving into a new space is a great time to open your interior eye to new things, but if you would like to re-create some aspects of your old home, such as paint colors, kitchen backsplashes, bathrooms curtain, etc.,, do not be afraid to implement those designs again. 

 

These small things help you adjust to your new home after relocating. As you go through the process, you might miss your original home, but as a quote once said, “A house is made of bricks and beams. A home is made of hopes and dreams.”
